Apple seems to be the latest target for hackers by the looks of it. A month or so after Sony and Sega were targeted and millions of user accounts compromised, hackers seems to be turning their attention to Apple now. In fact, they already claim to have found some success. That’s right, hackers claim to have been able to get in to one of Apple’s servers and have even posted usernames and passwords they managed to leak out of it.
The only reassuring fact is that this server had nothing to do with Apple consumer line up and mainly dealt with online surveys. Anyway, the data that they managed to siphon off have been pasted here for everyone to see. The group behind this attack is Anonymous who is believed to be tied up with Lulzsec.
The group has also (reassuringly) said using their twitter ID that as of now, Apple is not their prime target and that they are “busy
elsewhere”. However, they do warn that Apple could be targeted at a later stage. Note that this attack comes just a few days after Apple announced the iCloud services which is basically storing all your data on Apple’s servers “in the cloud’. Apple is yet to officially respond to this claim by the hackers.
