Popular iOS hacker, @pod2g who is known for his marvelous exploits has warned users about iOS 5.0.1 update. According to his tweet on twitter, users who plan to untether JailBreak their iDevices on iOS 5.0 shouldn’t update to iOS 5.0.1. The reason is Charlie Miller’s recent discovery of a bug which would be closed in the upcoming software upgrade.
It simple means that this bug would help for untethered JailBreak of iOS 5.0. With any application, a user can push data without code signing from Apple and hackers could use it to seed JailBreaking data on devices. Hence, making it an untethered JailBreak. However, this backdoor could be patched with a tweak in Cydia which might be released anytime in the future. Nevertheless, it is just a blind guess from my side. And i don’t want you to exaggerate it further.
All we do now is to believe on @pod2g who has the record of finding several exploits back in the history. Recently, he also told about a bug in iOS 5.0 which could lead an untethered JailBreak. But this required for him to work a bit hard. Are you waiting eagerly for the untethered JailBreak?
