Apple's Siri Will Soon Be Able To Recognise Indian English

Apple introduced Siri, its voice assistant in the iPhone 4s. But for users of the iPhone in India, it did not prove really useful as Siri wasn’t good in gauging Indian English. This is going to change now as it reported that the iOS 8.3 update will focus on making Siri understand Indian accents better. Siri will now also support languages like Russian, Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Thai and Turkish. This is of course a good move by the Cupertino based technology giant as Siri’s competition, Google Now understands the Indian accent very well. Even Microsoft is doing great work with Cortana, so Apple has to buck up with Siri.

Voice Assistants have to be a priority for most companies as many users find it handy especially when driving or doing some other task. Also with the introduction of smart watches, they will be even more important as people will use that assistant to communicate with their smart watch. Originally launched with the iPhone 4s, Siri is now available on the iPhones after the it and also on iPads after the third generation one. iOS 8.3 will have a lot of bugs fixes as when iOS was released iOS 8, it was very buggy and a lot of users complained that it’s the most unstable update by Apple ever.
It is even said that Apple will focus in getting the OS to run smoother rather than just adding new features with iOS 9, which mostly will be released at WWDC this year. Apple’s biggest change to iOS came with the iOS 7 update as it was a major redesign. They switch from a skeuomorphic look to a flat one and iOS 8 continues that flat look. This happened after Jony Ive who used to only design hardware at Apple started working on the designs of the company’s software too. In other news about the company, it is also reported that Apple is working on an electric car which they plan to finalise by the year 2020.
