Apple Could Pay Money To Trade Android Phones

According to some reports, it is emerging that the company is in the process to offer in-store credit for Android users who wish to trade their old smartphones for an iPhone. It is a good option and will allow Apple to target more android users directly by offering them an added incentive to join Apple’s ecosystem.
Currently, the trade in scheme is only available for users who wish to upgrade to a new iPhone. The user can put older Apple devices for trade-in towards the cost of the purchase. Apple, in turn, will safely recycle, re-purpose or dispose of old gadgets. The iPhone trade-in scheme has been active since 2013 and has led to increased sales as a result. Apple also introduced a similar scheme for iPads this year. By extending the same trade in scheme for Android and BlackBerry devices, Apple is making sure that it reaches out to a wider audience. Apple will start the programme in forthcoming weeks, once the employees have been trained appropriately.
Apple-Android Trade in
Apple’s retail staff will be responsible for determining the trade-in value of your old smartphone and your store credit amount will depend solely on that so you might want to get friendly with the retail guys at Apple. This is surely not the first attempt by Apple as it released a fairly extensive guide last year explaining how to move content over from an old Android device to a new iPhone. The guide included information on swapping contacts, mail and calenders as well as photos, music and videos.
Such moves have been previously used by Microsoft/ Nokia which allowed users to take their Lumia phones for a week and then decide if they wanted to keep it or not. The extended trade in programme is a great option for Android users looking to change to an iPhone and would help in making the whole process effortless.
It is still not clear if Apple will be launching the same programme in India. But, for Apple Watch enthusiasts, we can confirm that the Apple Watch will launch in the month of June.
