iOS 9 Leaks Reveals Major Feature Updates

9to5Mac reported that Apple’s next generation both mobile devices along with PCs will be focusing on zapping bugs and also improving stability. The report stated that the iOS 9 will feature a new optimization method which will support the older hardware made by the company, even the ones which aren’t on sale anymore. This includes the iPad mini along with the iPhone 4S. The report stated that Apple is now building a core version of iOS 9 which will run on devices with the older A5 processor after which they will enable features one-by-one.

Usually Apple extends iOS compatibility to devices which are a few generations prior to the current shipping model. In the past there was an OS update by Apple which was for all the older iPhones and iPad though there were many complaints by the users. There were post-update reports that stated significant slowdowns in device performance. Usually Apple disables demanding features of the new software updates that usually ends up detracting the overall user experience.
During June 8-12, at the Apple WWDC, developers will be shown the latest features for the Mac OS and the iOS. It’s stated that the latest mobile operating system is expected to highlight home automation alongside offering the split screen support for the first time.
A new security system called ‘Rootless’ has been reported. It is currently called as a ‘huge’ kernel-level feature for not only OS X but also iOS. This systems aims at improving safety of extensions along with preventing malware. Rootless will also prevent administrative-level users from accessing certain data on the devices. Along with all this, it is also said that it will be a huge blow to the jailbreak community.
The company plans to convert several of its core applications to an ‘iCloud Drive backend’ with the help of iOS 9 and OS X 10.11. To make sure that it’s syncing applications are more secure, Apple is upgrading its iCloud Drive and CloudKit servers that sustain the expected uptick in usage when more core applications move to a pure iCloud foundation. There is another dedicated iCloud Drive application developed to view files but the report stated that it will remain for the internet use only.
Apple’s new music application which is developed in collaboration with the Beats is another highly anticipated and awaited addition to the iOS 9. It is most likely to be called the Apple Music. This application will directly include social features which will be available to the artists along with it being directly integrated into the Music application. Though it will come as a standard version on all the iOS 9 devices, Apple Music will require a subscription.
The launch of the iOS 9 is expected to occur this fall as per Apple’s release schedule. It is around the same time the new iPhone will be launched and most probably before presentation the new iPads.
