This is certainly the most interesting iPhone 3.0 leak so far. Some very convincing shots of the next generation iPhone in action as it seems. The leaked images via Umpcfever show iPhone 3G camera in action against the next gen iPhone; autofocus, video / still mode toggle and more.
They also have sample pics taken from a 3G iPhone and the iPhone Pro / 3.0 aka 3rd gen. While the built of the iPhone is not seen in any of these pictures, the firmware v3.0 seems to be in action. We cannot be 100% certain if its really iPhone 3rd Gen, but then none of the current iPhones have a digital compass that we see in the images …!
Engadget notes that possibly these images show 2 new iPhones, notice the different styling in the CPU activity pic and the other Digital Compass pic above.
