Apple had made its intentions clear about future iPod Touch’s / iPhones being a complete gaming device that would eliminate the need for a separate handheld like a PSP. However, Apple firmly sticks to a touchscreen approach while Sony with its new PSP GO fails to get a touchscreen or accelerometer.
While the 3.8″ Screen on the PSP go is little bigger than the iPhone / iPod Touch’s 3.5″, Apple probably has a different segment of users targeted. Personally I feel a touchscreen with a Slide out keyboard is the best approach, which Palm PRE gets and the Sony PSP Go gets it only partially correct.
With still sometime to go for Apple’s killer gaming device with the much expected multicore chips to get real, we need to wait and watch if Apple beats the PSP or some magical accessories comes to its rescue.
