3G Connectivity Coming To Next Generation iPod touch in September?

Where everyone is engaged in predicting the features in iPhone 4S/5, there are people in the world who bothers about the future of iPod touch in the September event. Apple is expected to hold a ‘Music event’ where both the products could be revealed. There are quite few things which we can expect from the next generation iPod touch out of which the dual core processor (A5 chip) could be a reality. Some reports are suggesting that Apple will implement the 3G connectivity in iPod touch 5G for people to access the internet on the go.

If Apple uses an antenna in the iPod touch 5G for the 3G connectivity, a micro sim card slot will make its way automatically. Last year, Apple embedded many features of iPhone 4 in iPod touch 4G including the retina display and the rear & front facing camera. It seems that the company may want to take it to another level through the 3G data connection. Anything similar to this could take the iPod touch to carrier providers like AT&T and Verizon to sell it in the market.

Some other reports from 9to5Mac suggested that Apple would  make the iPod touch 5G a cheaper iPhone by using the 3G/GPS Baseband chips. It could help the company to target the medium range of Android smartphones where it looses most of its shares. This could even increases the prices to a little extent. However, there is no confirmation on it yet.
