The famous iPhone application and website Fandango, which allows you to purchase theater tickets online, is getting ready to release a new significant feature that will be a replacement for paper movie tickets, and to be best of all its hassle free.
Currently the process of purchasing a ticket through Fandango is kind of an inconvenience. At first you start of by purchasing a ticket from within the application, after the successful purchase of the ticket, Fandango sends you a pick up code to your email. After receiving the pick up code, you will have to wait and stand in line to present the code along with your credit card. An alternative that Fandango provided is to print out the ticket through their website, but it have proven to be an additional hassle.
The new feature that Fandango is currently testing will save users from the quarrel of printing out the ticket, or waiting in line to display the pick up code. What this new feature does, is that it will display a bar code on your iPhone, while at the theater, this barcode will be scanned directly off your iPhone’s screen. You just walk in, scan your iPhone, and enjoy the movie, diminishing all the aggravations the paper movie tickets used to cause.
This feature will soon be available, Darron Cross of Fandango told Leander Kahney of Cult of Mac “It’s not too far away. We’ll have it pretty soon.”
Let’s wait and see, hopefully this application will truly become the new simple way we deal with purchasing tickets.
