Its been a while that we are hearing about Opera mini 5 for iPhone, Well today Opera has submitted their Opera Mini 5 for iPhone today on AppStore, I wonder what Apple will do with it. I don’t know what apple will lose by allowing such apps !!! The best thing about Opera Mini is its speed, you will appreciate it when on roaming or when you are on EDGE connections, because Opera’s proxy servers probably already have most popular sites pre-cooked and ready to render. I would recommend not use for banking sites because proxy browsers by their nature break SSL encryption and don’t offer real speed boosts for non-pre-rendered content.
Let see how long does Apple takes to approve it since apple doesn’t allows apps that copy core functionality and also does not allow non-standard frameworks which were noticed when the beta of Opera Mini 5 was introduced. Opera mini already ripped mobile Safari, when it comes to open pages, They opened two identical sites on two iPhone’s, one with Safari and other with Opera. Opera completely outplayed Mobile Safari.
