Apple has put almost all leading technolog companies in a wild race called the ‘tablet rush’. Every tom dick and harry is out there making a tablet even while half the world is thinking if there is a utility for it. Now here comes an analyst prediction and its wild. Estimate is that Apple will sell as many as 45 million tablets in 2011 alone.
Now in comparison original estimates of iPad sales were roughly around 1.2 million for 2010, which sure was very conservative. But selling 45 million iPads alone in 2011 would mean selling a number very close to that iPhone sells. Looks like a far stretched estimate to me. Though a 2nd gen iPad would come in and bring some momentum digesting a 45mn number is difficult.
Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White has claimed that Apple is on course to sell 45 million iPads in 2011, as it cements its leading position in the tablets market. – Via
