While we are still excited and waiting to get our hands on the Lion :), its thrilling to know that the App Store for Mac is just 3 weeks away. The Mac app store would bring paid and free apps just like the AppStore on mobile (in 90 countries at launch. Apps for the Mac would start flowing on 6th January. Developers are already flowing in apps and I feel that this is one thing that can really fuel the growth of Mac is this App Store. While the Mac ecosystem is growing faster than the industry, for it to catchup with Windows / Microsoft, things like the App Store would play a major role. There have been questions on the utility of App Store for desktops, but we would believe that for Apple – it makes tremendous sense.
We may not see the huge rush of developers, but there is serious money to be made here. And we are ready to be surprised when Steve goes on stage launching the Lion next year and reveal how many numbers the App Store did !
