Dear RIM, Shut Up Till You Have The Playbook Out!

OK so I have been hearing about the RIM Blackberry Playbook since some time now and yes the videos do look promising. RIM has a dual-core chip powering the Playbook and QNX is a promising platform on tablets. RIM is looking to bring the Playbook to market at $499 or less in Q1 2011 and we have sure heard more than enough and several times from RIM. So what is the Blackberry Playbook really like? Something that redefines tablet? A super gadget? Well actually we don’t know yet. None of us have used it and its FAR from a public release.

So when RIM goes on a call on Thursday and tries its best to do a Steve Jobs and giving their bit of gyan on what Playbook would be and hitting out on competitors. They should very well note that they are ARGUING ON AN UNRELEASED PRODUCT. Yes it may be promising, good and RIM has all reasons to be excited. But thats it, put a brake to it and come up with the product in stores for us to really see how good it is. Babbling about a unreleased product and raving as if its the next big thing since Dinosaurs were extinct, won’t get you fans!

So stay away from ‘a proprietary SDK and unnecessary apps’ / ‘I think the PlayBook redefines what a tablet should do’ / ‘I think there’s going to be a rapid desire for high performance. And I think we’re way ahead on that’ / ‘I think the PlayBook clearly sets the bar WAY higher on performance, and you’re going to see more’ …. these comments are good AFTER you have sold a few million of these in a quarter. Till then allow us to sit back and watch the action on ground instead of listen to promises of TO BE released products. kthxbai
