According to iLounge, a trusted source, Apple is all set to launch the next version of Mobile Me in April. Last month, Apple informed the retailers that the current Mobile Me Boxes have been discontinued and removed from Mobile Me online store. One of the report also claims that Apple may include social networking services to new version of Mobile Me such as Facebook, Foursquare and uStream. Apple may be planning to use MobileMe has the brain of its cloud service rather then the storage locker.
According to the source who works for the major educational institutions claimed that Apple has informed that the current version is no longer available and student can opt for the 60 day free trial to cover to the gap between the final MobileMe shipment and the launch of the new version. Also, the source has been told that, Apple will support the existing version in the next year, suggesting that next version will be quite different from the existing service.
