Largan Precision & Genius Electronic Optical enjoy a 27.5% global market share in supplying camera to mobiles, thanks to the iPhone 4 camera popularity. As Apple gears up to release the iPhone 5, we wonder what would they feature? rumors of a 8 Megapixel camera in the next iPhone is very logical. A 8MP camera with full HD recording (1080p) would compete with the top Android offerings in the market.
So here is the latest bit of rumor, Largan and Genius are supplying the 8MP camera that Apple is fitting the 5th generation iPhone with. Apple sold over 20 million iPhones last quarter and the smartphone market (as well as iOS business) is only growing. Apple would only sell more and more iPhones with the next generation. Both these suppliers are expected to stay ahead of competition given Apple’s blessings.
As for the iPhone 5, a lot of rumors come in daily. The latest promising a 4″ display. Apple would also expectedly use the dual-core A5 processor in the iPhone 5, which we have already seen on the iPad. While Foxconn is expected to make the 85% of the new iPhones for Apple, Pegatron would fill in with the other 15 %. Apple has broken its yearly cycle with the iPhone 5 being delayed and thus Android has got some more foot in the market with manufactuers like Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG making hay while the sun shines.
