ACU Study Proves iPads Facilitates Learning

It has long been assumed that tablets would enhance students learning and might just help them grasp concepts faster. Now this notion has been proved by Abilene Christian University with their research on graduates in their university, wherein students using the iPad have been found to be outperforming by securing better grades than their peers using the conventional paper based method for studies.

As per the study which was exclusively previewed to TUAW, students taking notes on their iPad’s scored approximately 20% higher on questions regarding information transfer as compared to their conventional paper based peers. On the other hand graduates working on online program reported a higher satisfaction rate of 95% for iPad based online course work as opposed to the conventional ones.

Apple itself had been taking steps to target students with the help of various education apps and successively announcing the App Store Volume Purchase Program in sync with the usual Back to School discount programs for students. Apple’s efforts finally seem to be paying off as schools from states across the US like California, New York and others either seem to have already taken or are beginning to take initiatives to implement the use of iPad in their classrooms and the education process.

The failure of other competitors like Android based tablets only seemed to have helped Apple’s cause and facilitated its rapid acceptance in the education system. Still, the Apples’ iPad is truly a revolutionary tablet and we are yet to see its other benefits in other fields.
