If we believe the AllThingsD sources, Apple is all set to unveil next generation iPhone on October 4. And some defect in the touch screen panels of iPhone 5 is completely an indigestible statement. According to Digitimes, those touch screen panels which are being produced by Wintek have a “delayed bubble” defect. This defect occurred during the lamination process and found later on while assembling these panels. Due to the fact that touch screen panels of iPhone 5 are similar to iPhone 4, it is expected that the defect would be removed really soon.
Unfortunately, Wintek is not the only manufacturer of touch screen panels for iPhone. It holds the responsibility to make 20-25% of them. Out of which 60-65% are produced by TPK Holding, a Taiwan based company and Chimei Innolux is producing rest of them. Whereas, Wintek said that all of its products are being delivered on usual schedule. As per the reports, Apple would produce 24-25 million iPhone 5 devices in the fourth quarter of the year. If the news is credible then it will definitely effect the initial shipments of iPhone 5 in many countries. But we hope that the magical company would be able to manage them after the official announcement.
