It was only on Tuesday that Samsung had finally managed to overturn a ban on the Galaxy tab 10.1 in Australia. And as we had rightly predicted that “any celebration by Samsung might be premature”, it has come true with the Australian High Court extending the ban on the tab for atleast week till a decision on the appeal is made.
Apple had filed an appeal as soon as the ban on the Galaxy Tab had been lifted and at the same time requested for an extension in the injunction till the case is filed in the court.
Apple’s request was immediately accepted and now as Justice Dyson Heydon of the Australian High Court has announced that it will be in place for a week till the 9th of December. And it is on the 9th that a decision will be made by the Court to decide whether Apple can appeal the decision given by the Australian Federal Court.
Well Apple and Samsung are also locked in an intense patent battle over the Galaxy Tab in the German courts as well. Though sadly for Samsung they have facing a ban in the German markets as well.
It will be very interesting to see what the Australian High Court’s take is on the lawsuit after the Federal Court had cleared the way for Samsung. We will keep you updated on the same as soon as we hear anything on it.
