Why Do You Need To Get Rid Of iPad 2 Ahead Of iPad 3 Launch?

Well, when Apple has sent invites to media for a special event this Wednesday, the announcement of the next generation iPad seems to be imminent. On the image attached with the invite, there’s clearly written – “we have something you really have to see. And touch”. As soon as it made a news, whole my timeline over twitter and other social networking sites were filled with the people who wanted to sell their iPad 2. Now the question arises, is it worth selling your iPad 2 ahead of the iPad 3 launch? There are some the following reason why one should get rid of their iPad 2 soon –

1) Retina Display / High Resolution

Even the image with the invite hints us towards the fact that the next generation iPad would see the implementation of a Retina display or anything of higher resolution than what we see in iPad 2. If you own an iPhone 4 or 4S, you must already know how it could bring a tremendous change in the tablet market. If you still doubt about it, just compare the display of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S and you would know the significant difference. Earlier, it was expected that iPad 2 could get the Retina display, but it never turned into reality. This alone could be one of the reason for you to get rid of the iPad 2 and purchase an iPad 3 whenever it hits the Apple Stores.

2) Cameras

If you are someone who often take photos using the tablet, a camera upgrade could be an enough reason for you to purchase an iPad 3. Currently, the cameras which are there on iPad 2 doesn’t take impressive photos. It is also rumored that Apple would introduce its Mac OS X application called ‘Aperture’ into the iPad 3 which would make those bump in the megapixels worth in next generation iPad. However, we don’t have any clue about it yet. But an upgrade in the camera is a possibility for sure.

3) LTE technology

LTE is on uprise since various carriers across the world have adopted the technology. However, the services haven’t been rolled out everywhere. There are still numerous countries where LTE is still in a testing stages. Considering the history of Apple, they tend to use the technology which has a future. This is why the whole line up of iDevices doesn’t support flash and instead use HTML 5. If you are in one of those countries where LTE is available, you certainly have an advantage. You would be able to surf internet even at more faster speeds. Therefore, we don’t consider it to be a huge factor, but it could be one of the reason for many people out there.

4) Quad core processor

A quad core processor would definitely boost the performance of the device. Everything including the multitasking, speed to open applications etc would become 2x times faster than the current generation iPad. The only challenge in front of Apple is to maintain the same battery life while using a quad core processor into the device. And we hope that they should have been solved it already, given the fact that they are continuously struggling to get it resolved in iPhone 4S. Moreover, iPad 2 didn’t encounter much of the problems since it has been launched. So if you need a tablet which is blazing fast and at the same time maintains the same amount of battery life, you should consider upgrading to iPad 3.

5) Graphics

When Apple unveiled iPad 2, they claimed that iPad 2 has 9x times better graphics than iPad 1. With the introduction of a quad core processor, Apple should have bumped up graphics of next generation iPad. Perhaps, all those upcoming applications such as Infinity blade 3 would take its advantage. And those which are already available would run even more smoothly on an iPad constituting a quad core processor. However, there’s is no such issue with Apple devices that applications specifically run only on one device and not others. Although the performance could matter depending upon one iDevice to another. If you are an application enthusiast, this could be one of the reason for you to upgrade.

Price point

Whenever Apple release a device, either they discontinue the predecessor or release a version of less configuration. Similar to iPhone 4, it is expected that Apple would come up with an 8GB iPad 2. But if they don’t, the reselling price of your iPad 2 would be slashed down heavily. You can expect a drop down of 5-10k normally once the successor is available in the market depending upon the condition and how much the product has been used so far. If you are looking forward to buy an iPad 3, this is the right time for you to sell it. At this time, you would get the descent prices for the product. Otherwise, it would be a tad too late.

If money is not a problem, you can give iPad 2 to your siblings and buy another iPad 3 whenever it’s launched in your respective country. I hope this post helped you to take the right decision at the moment. Shout out in the comment section wether you would buy an iPad 3 or whatever the next generation will be called?
