DigiTimes Strikes Again, Claims Quad-Core Processor For Next iPhone

According to Digitimes Apple’s next generation iPhone will feature a quad-core processor. This is against what Apple has done with the new iPad which sports a dual-core processor with a quad-core GPU.

HTC, Samsung, LG and other brands have already pushed their Android based quad core devices out into the market with some doing really well, like the Galaxy S3 which sports a Samsung Exynos processor. The other major competitor is the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor which is present in devices like HTC One X and the recently released Google Nexus 7.

Additionally, Apple is also expected to release its next-generation iPhone built on Samsung’s Exynos 4 quad-core processor in the second half, heating up competition in the segment, commented the sources.
Most industry experts believed Apple to take charge with a quad-core processor for the new iPad but Apple instead opted for a dual-core process with a quad-core graphics which still proves to outperform every other tablet out there. We still believe that Apple might go for something similar in the new iPhone as well but Apple is a company which always goes against expectations and predictions.
