iOS Programming Language Is More Famous Than C++

According to TIOBE index the iOS programming language, Objective C, is more famous than C++ currently. All thanks to the surge of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad which have been creating ruckus since 2007. Objective C and C++ were both created in 1983 but Objective C couldn’t come into the limelight late until 1988 when Steve Jobs licensed Object C for NeXT.

Right until 2009, before the introduction of App Store on iOS, Object C was not really programmers choice with only 1% developers using it as compared to around 11% for C++. But the instant hit of App Store has driven developers to quickly spot a demand for mobile apps. iOS apps primarily depend on Object C or Cocoa programming which created a spike in its adoption.

This shift clearly shows the future of mobile computing. Day by day more companies are realizing the future of mobile computing. With companies like Microsoft also trying to be major players with their launch of Windows 8 for tablets and mobiles.
