Looks like we have an action packed fortnight in the offing. The end of October 2012 is going to witness a bunch of new, power packed new product launches if we are to go by rumors To start with, we have the all-important Apple event on Tuesday where the mini iPad is rumored to be launching.
That is followed by the Windows 8 launch on Friday where we might also see the launch of the new Surface tablets from Microsoft. If that wasn’t all, Google has also scheduled an event for the 29th of October where the company *could* launch the much rumored Nexus 10 tablet.
Usually trustworthy folks from over at TheNextWeb are reporting that Google is indeed working on the mythical Nexus 10 and that device code named “Manta” could see officialdom on October 29, 2012. The Nexus 10 would be Google’s answer to the large screened tablets of the world and would compete with the likes of the iPad, the Microsoft Surface tablets and of course, other Android tablets.
The specifications of the Nexus 10 – allegedly being manufactured by Korean electronics major LG was leaked late last month. If you happened to be in a cave when that happened, here’s what we currently know about the Nexus 10.
To start with, it will sport an earth shattering display resolution of 2560*1600 – easily trumping the one on the current generation iPad. It will also be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5 chip which is also the first Cortex A-15 SoC.
The Nexus 10 is also likely to be just one among other products that would be announced at the event. Also to be noted is the fact that the Nexus 10 is likely to run the yet to be named Android 4.2 version. That said, we would love the Android version to be called KajuKatli – an Indian sweet dish!
