There’s no doubt that popular iOS hacker @planetbeing has teased JailBreak in an image on his iPhone 5 previously, but today he claimed that he has an untethered JailBreak which he would probably release once iOS 6.1 goes public. He goes on to clarify on Reddit that the news of the death of JailBreak have been highly exaggerated. Since 140 characters wouldn’t be enough for him to explain this on Twitter, he used Reddit instead where the JailBreak community is much more smaller.
Planetbeing also feared about the riot which might have been started if he would have wrote this on Twitter. This is definitely a good news for those who have lost hope for the JailBreaking anytime in future. In fact, many other hackers such as Charlie Miller predicted that there wouldn’t be any iOS 6.x JailBreak in 2013. On the other hand, @i0n1c said that the security in iOS 6.1 has been tightened to make JailBreak even tougher.
The iOS hacker on Reddit said that the he has multiple reasons for not releasing the JailBreak on iOS 6.x.x. First reason is that releasing it now would lead to an end of another exploit, because Apple would ultimately end up fixing it in iOS 6.1. Once new firmware is released, PlanetBeing could look into the new firmware and lookout for the possibilities in it for future. Secondly, iOS 6.1 is already in beta stage and would be released anytime soon. If they release the untethered JailBreak now, it would sacrifice many more bugs including the smaller part which would be scarified for sure.
There are 4+ bugs with iOS hacker right now and there would be certain more in iOS 6.1 or other upcoming firmwares. Hence, if you think JailBreak is dead and the community is stale, you are mistaken. Pod2G has also been away from the JailBreaking scene and had been running a topic which trended in many countries to open up iOS even more in iOS 7.0. He believes that Apple would at least see the topic trending and consider the voice of their fans for the major iOS release this year.
iOS 6.0.1 tethered JailBreak is only possible on A4 devices. Checkout here how you can do that. Are you excited now? Let’s know in comment section below.
