Want to Jailbreak or Unlock your iPhone v2.2.1?
Much to your delight its possible to Downgrade to V2.2 … !! read on
Going back to firmware v2.2 is very simple. All you need is iTunes on your system and the v2.2 firmware files. (Download the v2.2 firmware file for iPhone 1st gen here / for iPhone 3G here).
- 1. Put your iPhone in DFU mode (Connect to computer, turn iPhone off, Hold power and home button together for exactly 10 seconds; Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps and a USB device is detected)
- 2. Once your iPhone is in DFU mode, iTunes will show your iPhone with a Restore option
- 3. Press Shift+Restore and select the v2.2 firmware file that you have downloaded; the iPhone should be back to the old version
- 4. If you get an error message, try again. (Note if the error messages are no 1011, 1013, 1015; you can ignore them)
Now follow the steps to Unlock / Jailbreak firmware version 2.2 and cheers!
