Strong rumors confirm once again that Apple and China Unicom have signed the deal for the arrival of iPhone in China this October. So after months of hype and wait the, Apple iPhone 3G will launch via China’s 2nd biggest carrier – China Unicom. According to the report iPhone 3G is being priced at in China at $365 with a 2 yr contract and the same would be initially a non WiFi version as rumored before. Later it shall move to China’s homegrown WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure). The deal is expected to be officially announced any moment. No news on the 3Gs though.

To counter the same it is believed that China Telecom (China’s biggest telecom co) seems to be in negotiation with Palm to bring the Palm Pre to China. Globally if, any smartphone that comes close to the Apple iPhone in its multi touch features and charm is the Palm Pre, and this would be interesting as the 3GS isn’t in sight for the Chinese market yet. Perhaps its just a matter of a few months before we hear about the 3Gs aswell, as the stock shortage surely won’t last long with Apple’s contracted manufacturers rolling out the 3GS at full speed.

Update: The deal is now official and the contract if for 3 years. Also, as, it seems both the 3G and the 3Gs will make it to China together.
