Nexus One for AT&T coming soon?

FCC has recently cleared a device which appears to be the AT&T version of the Google Nexus One. The only version of the Nexus One available till now is the one compatible with the T-Mobile network which is being sold unlocked by Google. A Verizon and a Vodafone version have been officially promised by Google.

The above snapshots from FCC show the T-Mobile Nexus One (right) and the rumored AT&T Nexus One (left). Both the handsets share a similar FCC ID. While the new one is PB99110 which is just one digit changed from that of Nexus One we know now, PB99100. Which means that the newly approved handset could be a variant of the existing Nexus One. The RF exposure info on the FCC website also shows that the new handset is compatible with the AT&T 3G network.

Although the speculations of an AT&T nexus one are made only on the basis of similarities on the FCC code, the new handset sure would be a smart move from google. An unlocked AT&T version of the phone would invite more customers for google. On the other hand, it could be a trouble for the iPhone users. As the move would make them share the already congested AT&T bandwidth with the new nexus one users.
