Chimei Innolux Corp, Taiwan’s largest LCD maker well-known for producing many products including: TFT LCD panel modules, LCD display products, computer panels, AV and mobile panels, desktop monitors, and televisions has joined hands with Apple to supply touch panel sensors for iPad 2. Apple is already in a complex situation that has arisen due to heavy demand for the same. Certain retail sites have also been forced to pull off the promotion of iPad 2 due to shortage of supply.
There is no denying the fact that it was Apple that started the Tablet fever with the iPad. Various other companies have tried manufacturing their tablets with different OS’, but none could match the popularity of iPad and of late, the iPad 2.
Though the supply of parts are to only begin next month, Apple and Chimei have adopted a policy of staying quiet over the details of their partnership. The deal with CI Corp is simply an attempt to rise to the occasion of the current & future demands of iPad 2.
