With the WWDC approaching fast and scheduled next week it is a given that iPhone4 rumors start flying htick and fast. Well the latest and the hottest one out htis Monday states that the iPhone 4S (rumored name for the next gen iPhone) will be released some time late July or early August rather than being unveiled at the WWDC next week.
Reports from Macotakara suggest that the new iPhone would keep the same form factor and would be bundled with a Qualcomm chipset along with an 8 megapixel camera. It also goes on to say that the iPhone 4S will use an ARM Cortex-A9 chip and its not confirmed if that is an single or a dual core device.
Besides it further states the new phone would be a SIM-less device with an additional 3-4 antennas that would allow it to function on GSM and CDMA both contradicting the smaller SIM reports, adding further that the actual iPhone 5 is still under development and would be ready for release some time in Spring of 2012.
My reactions to the reports are that these are just rumors according to me. With Apple you cant really know or guess whats happening on their end. And IF (yes thats a big if) the reports turn out to be true then Apple would end up losing a lot of market share if it releases its iPhone 5 that late with the other smartphone manufacturers catching up and even exceeding its hardware capabilities. Also its important for Apple to innovate further with them feeling the heat of the fire that Android id generating.
So what happens at the WWDC? Only time will tell… My suggestion to you is Wait and Watch 🙂
