Earlier, we were in an impression that only iOS 5 JailBreak would bring the developer based widgets in iOS 5. But it seems that Apple has another patent that went unnoticed with the multitouch interface that could create troubles for other platforms. This patent has been named as ‘user widget’ which is self defined in itself. In future, iDevices users will be able to create widgets of their own type irrespective of what Apple has given them. It is also called as ‘widget creator module’.
As of now, this theory is not applicable that user can create widgets by themselves in the notification center. Apple has implemented two widgets in the iOS 5 which includes weather and stock. Anyone who wants to develop a widget for the iOS 5 need to surpass the Apple restrictions, that is, a JailBreak is required. Apple didn’t mention the availability of widget module anytime soon in iOS 5. Let’s wait till iOS 5 releases this fall.
