iPhone 3GS Goes Out Of Stock in UK And Other Countries

We earlier had an impression that Apple will discontinue iPhone 3GS after iOS 5.0 announcement in June. But things turned other way round. Despite of removing it from their family of products, Apple provided support for their upcoming OS to the customers. For many people, nothing could be better than this if their 2 years old iPhone 3GS is getting new features. Earlier today, some sources at 9to5Mac reported that a tipster has told them that Orange UK is currently running out of stock of iPhone 3GS. An image posted above confirms the claim which clearly says – “iPhone 3GS is is currently unavailable, we will keep you updated”.

Some other sources suggested that the unavailability of iPhone 3GS doesn’t apply only to UK but US as well. In some countries, stock of the iPhone 3GS has been dropped down suddenly from few weeks. Other sources who could have been trusted told that the supply is really low which lead them with little amount of products in Stores. Usually, these things happen when Apple is expected to launch an upgrade or new products. By discontinuing iPhone 3GS, Apple may be preparing for iPhone 5 release or a cheaper iPhone that would target medium range markets. Also, it could be possible that iPhone 3GS come up with a built in A4 chip soon.

What do you think about these rumors?
