iPhone is a multipurpose device. It’s a phone, ipod and a gaming device all built in one. However, the heavily loaded features, a full touchscreen and power hungry 3G eats up lot of battery. With the next major release from Apple that would update the iPhone hardware significantly, the battery life becomes very important. With expectation of Multi Core chips, faster 3G, better camera and lots of other unexpected stuff the iPhone would surely be a monster for convential batteries.
Latest set of rumors suggested that the nextgen iPhone would have a special innovative, battery technology put to use by Apple. Apple has previously done away with removable batteries for iPods and certain models of MacBook to fit-in more power; it would be interesting to see how it deals with the nextgen iPhone battery. Another insider claim says that video recording would certainly make it to the iPhone this time.
