After a long wait for iPhone fans, Google Latitude has finally arrived! Google has released the Latitude as a web app running on Mobile Safari for iPhone and the iPod Touch. Earlier expectations were that the Latitude will come as a full-blown app from the iTunes AppStore. However, Google clarifies that Apple requested the Latitude to be made as a web app to avoid any confusion with Google Maps.
Incidentally iPhone 3.0 allows Safari to access location and thus building Latitiude was not a big fight for Google. To access Google Latitude on your iPhone or iPod touch just head to google.com/latitude from your Mobile Safari.
