Apple has sold more iPads than what they expected, now thats good news and a problem of plenty. As it turns out the iPad production issues / supply though recovered from the initial slowness, there is still a good enough supply constraint for iPad displays. LG Display Co supplies the beautiful 9.7″ screen for the iPad and as reported earlier they have supply concerns.
The Wall Street Journal now reaffirms that LG cant make enough of these displays currently and they would be able to meet the demand only by Q2 of 2011. But then won’t it be time for the iPad 2nd gen by then? So how about Apple already gearing up with something like the Retina displays for the next gen iPad? Makes sense to me…
