Apple Wins Patent For All New Hybrid Display Port/USB 3.0 Connector

With the release of New Macbook Pros containing a new technology from intel, popularly known as Thunderbolt aka Light Peak, Apple has won the patent of new hybrid display port or USB 3.0 connection according to a patently Apple. 

The report suggests that Apple has won the patent for all new hybrid display port or USB 3.0 connector which will work on all iOS devices and eventually through the Apple’s hardware lineup. The thunderbolt technology in refreshed Macbook Pros is high speed and Apple might be working on optical fibre based connectors in future. The latest hybrid seems to be a clear winner and we can expect it later this year or 2012 when intel Macs debuts with USB 3.0.

Actually, the patent was originally filed in the q3 2009 and credits Jason Sloey, Brian Lynch and Stephen Zadesky as the inventors.
