Airport Utility Application For iOS 5 Coming Soon?

Developers or users who have used iOS 5 betas have claimed that they came across an option in wireless network settings which allowed them to manage the Time Capsule or Air Base station from there. But in the Gold Master version or the previous beta, this option has been unknowingly removed from the settings. Though the functionality still exists. But now it automatically redirects you to the App Store and ask to download the Airport Utility application.

After opening the App Store, it says that your request cannot be completed. It clearly hints towards the fact that Apple is all in probability to release an Airport utility application for iOS 5 users which will let them manage settings of their Airbase station or Time Capsule right from their iDevices. To confirm that the option is still present, you can checkout the screenshot posted by MacStories. It also shows that Apple doesn’t have plans in future to release it as an integrated feature of iOS 5.

iOS 5 will be available for download on October 12 through iTunes. Let’s hope for the best.
