iPhone SE Price Launched in India

In an event named ‘Let us loop you in’ held in Cupertino, Apple unveiled the iPhone SE along with the 9.7” iPad Pro, and new software and accessories for the Apple Watch. The star of the event was the iPhone SE which the company terms as the cheapest iPhone model. The US price of the phone is $399 which comes to Rs. 26,000 approx. However, it’s Indian price is Rs. 39,000, which the company earlier had communicated for as Rs. 30,000 before revision. Apple said that the phone will be available in India from April.

The iPhone SE will be available in two variants: 16GB and 64GB. It is allegedly reported to feature the innards similar to the iPhone 6S but when it comes to appearance and the form factor, the phone resembles the iPhone 5S which was the company’s last 4 inch phone.

Talking about the specifications, the iPhone SE has a 4-inch display and will be powered by A9 SoC and M9 coprocessor along with 12 megapixel iSight (rear) camera with 4k video support. The phone will also most likely feature the hardware and the software capability required to run the Live Photos. When it comes to connectivity, the iPhone SE will support VoLTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and improved Bluetooth 4.2 as seen on the iPhone 6S.

Reports suggest that the phone will miss out on the 3D touch display, which is one of the unique feature in Apple’s flagship phones. The iPhone SE will also have the NFC chip to facilitate support for Apple Pay, the mobile payments system from Apple. The phone will come with the colour variants introduced to the iPhone 6S including Rose Gold.
