Previously, there were speculations that iPhone 4S prices could cross the mark of Rs 50,000/- for 64GB model. Unfortunately, today when the prices of iPhone 4S were revealed by Airtel on their site, we were confirmed. On the other hand, Aircel who were all set to start pre-booking of iPhone 4S in India have removed the statement completely from their site. Also, Airtel which never informed anything about the availability and pre-orders has pushed the trigger.
Now, you can pre-order your iPhone 4S from Airtel and the prices have been displayed on their Indian website. However, the price of iPhone 4S 16GB which supposedly has crossed over Rs 50,000 in India, as confirmed by many operators haven’t appeared yet. The iPhone 4S 16GB costs Rs 44,500 and iPhone 4S 32GB would be sold for Rs 50,900. And according to the operators, iPhone 4S 64GB price is set for Rs 57,500. Needless to say, Aircel and Airtel are heading towards the shortage of iPhone 4 16GB and iPhone 4 32GB, indicating that they would be discontinued soon.
Inspite of iPhone 4 16GB and 32GB, iPhone 4 in its new avatar of 8GB will be available for Rs 37,900 which is quite expensive if you compare it with the price of 16 GB version which was sold for Rs 34,500. It means that the new version with the less memory storage and similar stuff will cost more than that of its successor. This doesn’t make sense for us at all. Anyways, these revealed prices from Airtel have crossed the barrier of expectations for many people out there. Even most of the iPhone enthusiast are planning to buy it from abroad.
Till now, US, Hong Kong, Singapore are various other options where you can buy factory unlocked iPhone 4S and save few bucks. Though, Hong Kong remains the cheapest option to buy the flagship device from Apple. But the units are already out of stock. Thanks to the grey marketers who pre-ordered before it could make its way to others. You can also try out grey market once iPhone 4S is launched here in India. If you are looking for an iPhone 4, we would suggest to wait until refurbished iPhone 4 hits Apple Stores in India. They are expected to cost you around Rs 22,500/-.
