There is a long list of companies, institutes and independent developers who have launched their apps for iOS. Even Microsoft has its apps out for the iOS and here comes FBI. Yes the Federal Bureau Of Investigation has launched an app on the App Store called Child ID. The purpose of the app is to let parents keep details of kids on their iPhone / iTouch and have it handy in times of emergency.
The Child ID app allows you to digitally store photos and other info like weight/height of your kids on the iPhone. In case the child goes missing (say when out shopping in mall), you can easily show the photos and details to security personnel’s. The app also allows you to easily email the info to law enforcement authorities, thus saving valuable time in reporting.
If we can have mobile banking, mobile shopping and mobile entertainment, we sure need more law enforcement agencies to go mobile. Given the current trend of news, we would love to see a anti-corruption app in India. For now, if you are in US, Child ID app is for you (do help the FBI spread word about the same).
