Today, we have come across a site called SIGNUNLOCKPETITION which needs people to sign a petition for illegal unlocking of all cell phones and in turn they would unlock one of your iPhone. This petition would be sent to white house, so that the law could be overturned and people would be able to unlock their cell phones without any restrictions. However, after signing the partition, you could claim unlock for only one device which would take around a day to process your request.
The iPhone could be either iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or iPhone 5. If you try to unlock more than one iPhone and the system detects any fraud, all of your devices would be locked again. Nevertheless, the unlock would be processed only after you have signed the petition. Currently, 22,334 people are left for the target to be achieved. According to them, the unlocking for the iPhone which they would do is completely legal because they are unlocking only iPhones which have been manufactured before Jan 26.
All those iPhones which were manufactured after Jan 26 doesn’t fall under this scheme. You could enter SWIFTUNLOCKS as referral code to claim your free unlock. This referral code is not something different, but absolutely common to go ahead for the unlock process. If their Terms and Conditions are to believed, only iPhones who are locked on AT&T would be unlocked and carriers other than that are not supported.
We haven’t tried the method by ourselves, nor we guarantee that it would be successful. But if you want to take a chance and give away your IMEI no. and sign in the petition to claim a free unlock for your AT&T locked iPhone, you could go ahead with it.
